Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-05-02
These terms govern your use of Fred (the CLI fred, the web console at app.fredcode.net, and the streaming proxy at api.fredcode.net). By creating an account or sending a request through the CLI, you agree to them. If you spot something that should be clearer, email hello@fredcode.net.
1. Account
You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You're responsible for activity under your account. Don't share your API keys; treat them like passwords. We may suspend accounts engaged in clear abuse — mass automated signups, attempted resale of access, attacks against the service or its sub-processors.
2. Pricing & credits
Fred is pay-as-you-go. Credits never expire and are not transferable between accounts. Self-serve top-ups go up to $100 per Stripe Checkout session; for larger invoiced top-ups, email support@fredcode.net. Past invoices and saved payment methods are managed in the Stripe customer portal, reachable from /billing.
We may change per-token rates with at least 14 days' notice posted to fredcode.net and emailed to active accounts. Rate changes apply only to future usage — calls already made are billed at the rate card active at the time they were made.
3. Refunds
Top-ups are refundable within 30 days of purchase if your account has used less than $1 of the topped-up credits. Email support@fredcode.net from your account email. Outside that window, credits are non-refundable but never expire.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Fred to generate illegal content, to attack other systems, to scrape personal information, or in ways prohibited by DeepSeek's upstream policies. Don't try to circumvent rate limits, the model allowlist, or the metering system. Violations may result in account termination without refund.
5. Service availability
Fred is provided as-is. The service may have downtime; we don't offer a contractual SLA. Live status is at /status. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the credits you've spent in the 30 days preceding it.
6. Privacy & data
How we handle your data — what we store, what we don't, sub-processors, retention, and international transfers — is documented at /privacy. That document is part of these terms.
7. Changes
We'll post material changes here with a new "Last updated" date and email account holders. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
8. Termination
You can delete your account any time from /settings. We may terminate accounts for the abuse cases listed in §1 and §4. On termination, the refund rules in §3 still apply to any eligible balance.
